The Emma Fellowship
Our core program is the Emma Fellowship which is a cohort based program for Jewish women leaders between the ages of 27-77. We offer two fellowships a year. Our spring fellowship occurs from January to May with 14 to 20 participants. Our fall fellowship occurs from September to December with 14 to 20 participants. Each fellowship cohort has between 6 to 8 workshops.
Goals of the Emma Fellowship:
1. Enable established community members to share their knowledge and advocate for younger generations of women.
2. Develop & implement personalized strategies to advance Jewish women in their careers.
3. Empower participants to advocate for themselves and all women in the workplace.
4. Build an influential, intergenerational community of Jewish women and to strengthen the Jewish identity of all fellowship participants.
Program Components:
The Emma fellowship consists of sessions with both fellows and advocates in attendance. Each session includes skills development on topics relevant to career advancement for women, small group dialogue and personalized strategic planning. Upon completion of the program, all participants are encouraged to continue to tap into the collective group for career advancement and networking.
Topics covered: Our curriculum evolves based on our participants needs and experiences. We do try to cover the following topics with each cohort: A) Work/life balance, B) Goal setting, C) Negotations, D) Developing your own Brand & E) Risk Taking: making career decisions
Who are the participants: Participants are Jewish women from all sectors and industries including nonprofit, government and for-profit spanning the age range of 27-77.
Fellows are high-potential women, demonstrated leadership capacity in the community and have a strong interest to achieve career advancement. Applicants must have 4 to 8 years of mid-level to executive level experience.
Advocates (i.e. mentors) have a depth of experience and are leaders in their industry. They are committed to providing the time needed to help fellows advance in their careers. Advocates understand the need to actively support younger generations of women for career advancement. Most of our advocates have at least 25+ years of experience in the work force or community.
